Congressional Candidate Questionnaire Responses

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for its more than 83,000 members in service to society. America's architects are committed to serving the public as designers of our built environment and as advocates for policies that protect people and strengthen our communities.

This year, the AIA initiated DesignVote08, a nonpartisan program to get architects and their supporters front and center in the 2008 campaign.

As part of that initiative, the DesignVote team reached out to over 1,200 candidates for congressional office to answer a questionnaire aimed at discerning the candidates' attitudes on issues critical to architects and the built community (see the AIA issues agenda).

The AIA does not endorse or otherwise express opinions on candidates for federal office; we have, however, invited all known candidates to respond to this questionnaire and have published all received responses without edit below for review by the AIA membership and the general public.  Simply click on the candidate's name to review his or her positions on important issues to the design community.

For questions or concerns regarding DesignVote or the AIA Congressional Candidate Questionnaire, please contact Hannah Wesolowski, manager, Political Programs.
